okay, so i promised a full on entry about sydney and camp. so here goes...
i flew to sydney last thursday, as most of you know. flight was good - plane food has vastly improved since i was a frequent flyer 10 years ago - greek salad with chicken is a pretty dedcent plane meal. we got over sydney half an hour early, so we started flying out towards new zealand and then flew back over sydney, before landing. i got my baggage and then met up with magda and andy - it was so good to see them again. we went back to their place, and man, has mark grown. he's over 6 feet tall now!
the next day i met up with dora and we went to manly so i could do a touristy bit, and then we went to darling harbour. so i got to go on both a ferry and monorail that day. oh and we met up with caitlin and went on these funky pedal boats in darling harbour - but they cain your legs! i got a bit burnt cos i didn't realise how "hot" it was...
saturday morning i spent helping magda getting the last minute stuff ready for camp. then saturday afternoon we headed off to camp - i went in the car with magda, courtnet, zoe and bek... and discovered the donuty goodness of crispy creme donuts on the way there.
when we got to camp all my broken hill friends were there - and i hadn't seen them for over a month, so that was cool. gave some of the boys a little spin about camp etc and then set off like a tornado to see everyone.
that night eliza and i slept in my cabin, and we kept getting up and turning the light on (and then off) cos we hadn't seen each other in a while and had stuff to show and tell each other! so we got to sleep about 1.30am, and nearly missed breakfast the next morning - thank God for the camp speaker system and duncan and his morning wake up call!
camp was just a blurrrrrr. the week went so fast, and so hassle free (well, mostly) that i could have easily done it again the week after. we had a great bunch of kids - about 1/4 i would say were at splash bash 2003.
monday we did activities in camp and then went out to wentworth falls lake - where we spent the afternoon playing football (refering to rugby, not afl), cricket (I HIT A BALL), cards (w00t - go fluxx)... some kids swum, we played on the playground equipment, and then had dinner and jumped back on the bus to camp when it started raining.
like i said, the days blurred. highlights were as follows:
* tenpin bowling. ceto threw a 6 pound ball with two hands trying to break the speed record, and it bounced into the next lane where tristan was bowling.
* swimming at hawksbury oasis. i got a 9 on the waterslide - because i slid right up the side and nearly fell off! the water polo game was sick - although a few of the leaders ended up with bruises and scratches... lol!
* the line dancing. mark wore the fluro yellow shirt, and ceto and chops really got into the ymca. haha.
* the funky food night. some of those kids had iron stomachs - i swear. i mean, i couldn't have eaten half hte things they ate (including a brussel sprout covered in peanut butter, a big mushroom stuffed with vegemite, an oyster...)
* the concert on the last night. some very funny items there! haha! and of course barry's song which is always legendary.
* being hung from the room (on the rigged up thing they did instead of abseiling when it was wet). and duncan and andy pretended they needed like 8 people to help them hold me up there!
* loosing my voice. very un-cyndilike thing, but it happened
* the music. 'nuff said.
camp ended is always sad. you have to say goodbye and so on. haha - but the drive home was funny - i went with nikki, mark and katelyn, and it was just amusing! mark fell asleep and people in other cars laughing at him, and then some cart in front of us went around the corner with their boot open (it was a station wagon) and about 8-10 2L bottles of soft drink flew out the boot, hahaha!
sunday after camp we went to church and then spent the afternoon at zoes house for lunch - there were about 18 people there, it was pretty cool. then that night mark, david, bek, zoe, eliza and i went to the movies to see cheaper by the dozen, which was pretty funny... and then we attacked the photo booths (check out the photos in my previous entry).
monday we took a trip to palm beach - magda, mark, courtney, david, zoe, bek, eliza and myself. we saw some of home & away being filmed, met mitch firth (who plays seb) - and he was terrible egotistical and arrogant - and swum in the beautiful beach. oh, and i got burnt - what's new though? then we drove back and it took like 4 hours because there was MASS traffic jams and stuff! and mark was driving, and he did some naughty stuff. lol. oh, and we text messaged these electrician dudes cos they had their mobile number on their van.
i went shopping at westfield miranda (which is huge) and yeah..,. flew home on wednesday.
it was the best trip i've ever had. |

4 1/2 hours until i head off for the airport.
i've just finished packing my first suitcase
after deciding to take one suitcase,
i realised that i can't carry on a HUGE boomerang pillow, sleeping bag and backpack
so bascially for the comfort of having 2 pillows, and a little extra space for souviners,
i'm taking 2 suitcases and paying $11 excecss baggage each way.
lucky i went to work yesterday!
from my "still have to pack" list last night...
hairbrush (it's in anne's bag - michael finally found it under his bed)
shaver (it's in the shower)
junk food (its on my bookcase)

cd's (they're EVERYWHERE)

w00t. i rolled my doona up and fit it into a sleeping bag cover. i am teh win!
i've decided not to worry about applying for big brother.
i mean, in all reallity *haha* i have heaps of stuff to do this year.
and i've told mum im gonna put my "head down and bum up" as she likes to put it
and do well at uni this year,
after last years appoauling results.
plus i wanna get my nutrimetics stuff underway
and i can't do that all as well as go on big brother
(not that i would get in anyways)
so yeah... bye bye that idea
haha, some girl sent me money for the raffle, and sent $5 in coins stuck inside a card.
how cute.
when i went to get the mail, i took one look at hte letter
(after feeling it)
and realised that someone must have sent mass coinage in the mail.
i'm amazed the postal people let it thru, considering there is a weight factor in sending mail.
just doin some last minute washing - my pink towels and (blue) jeans are in the dryer...
i did a cyndi no-no and washed towels with clothes.
but they were only jeans, so it's all good...
so yeah, other than that, all the clothing is packed.
so now i'm just packing the "little stuff"
and then i guess i'll have a shower, get dressed in "real clothes"
(atm im wearing a random shirt and skirt picked up off the floor that im not taking to sydney)
and i guess i'll eat something...
i was going to see "cheaper by the dozen" today...
but will hopefully do that when im in sydney,
otherwise lucy and i will go when i return
(may even take krisitina if she wants)
*munches on peanuts*
wow, i'm so excited to be going on qantas,
they don't have those leathery-vinal seats like virgin blue do, so you don't stick to them
and i think the seats are a little wider
(for my fat butt)
and they feed you
*jumps for joy*
plane food can be fun
and cos im on a nut thing at the moment
i'll be like trying to get all the little packets of nuts
and you get FREE juice
haha yay this is exciting
oh, and qantas boarding passes are oh so much cooler than the virgin blue ones
and i'm gonna see TOURTNEY! yay
the rate im going with these peanuts im going to TURN INTO a peanut one day soon
or a chocolate eclair - one of the other!
ok, i really should stop procrastinating and pack, eh

that has been the question.
but i have decided that i think i can shove it all into one suitcase.

ok, so you have a point.
i've just been reading through my entries from january - may 2003.
i didn't write much last yeha... however some of what i wrote is quite memorable.
at the moment i'm starting the packing process - most of my clothes have been washed.
now i'm folding, however i won't probably start packing until tomorrow...
although i don't really have any time tomorrow, because i am at leahs from 11-4
and then at nutrimetics from 6-11
and then thursday morning i want to go and see cheaper by the dozen at the movies
and then thursday afternoomn i fly to sydney
so i guess that means i should do most of my packing tonight...
at least my flight isn't until 6.40pm, so at least i can pack bits on thursday without having to get up at 4am like previous trips out of the state.
just looking at my lj calander, i realised i have had this livejournal for over 2 years - since november 2001. that's kinda scary in a way... i might do a _striped and go thru and print all my entires... well, the meaningful ones that have some substance to them.
which reminds me, i have kinda killed one of my un-written resolutions - i haven't even really written in my journal this year - oops, 6 days past... naughty girl...
i fly off to sydney in 2 days - oh so exciting.
today lucy and i are going to marion i think to do a little shopping...
there are a few thigns i need for camp.
i found last years camp photos in my livejournal - bring back memories...
can't wait to see everyone again...
we have a tree with apricots on it, and they are mego yummo :) i love apricots.
still trying to tidy up my room from all the moving.
i'm going to make my big brother 4 application video tonight... so i should clean my room before i make it.

i jsut got a new desk...
well, actually it's kates - but she has mine in her room, and i used to have a built in desk, until peter ripped it out and put this one in here - yay! this one had a filing cabinet drawer and another drawer, and a little cupboard and CD holder etc. yay - oh so good :)
that meant i had to take one of my shelves above my desk out, so now i've dragged my bookcase in and doing a little bit of room-rearanging... so i better get back to it!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
hope you all had a great night. it's it exciting that it's now 2004!
i just got home from my new years escapade.
went to mary's place on wednesday afternoon for the NYE party -
it's was really good, not too many people there, so it wasn't over the top.
i didn't drink much at all - only 3 drinks - go me.
a couple of people got REALLY drunk and there were some interesting incidents (special friends only entry coming up later).
at about 6.30am me and michelle ("the other babysitter") went to bed - me in kristina's bed and her in michael's bed, and michael entertained 2 girls that were waiting around to sober up to drive home.
so yeah..,. very interesting. I ended up sleeping for abotu 3 hours and getting up cos I didnt feel to great. Then mary and I made pancakes and got bakers delight (yummo) and yeah... just hung around a bit.
then mary decided she was going out so asked me to babysit Johnny (who's 2 1/2) so yeah - spent another night there. Johnny is such a good little kid, he just watched Blues Clues and went to bed.
But he had huge mossie bites all over his arms and legs, so he was scratching and waking up... he woke up 4 times in all but then i gave him some kiddy panadol syrup and he slept through the night until just before 9 this morning. gorgeous kid.
sorry i didnt ring you back last night amy.... i'm sure you understand :o)
i just scrubbed my white pants that i wore last night. i've got a really dodgy photo of me in my outfit, as can be seen below, but i look like a heifer!
this was when i just got dressed. after that i did my hair and makeup and i looked a look better (however the makeup and hair didnt make me any skinnier, lol)
so yeah - lucy and i took some photo on our real cameras of us together just before we left ,all dressed and made up, so i'll post one wehn i finally get my film developed. |
